1. Who operates SnoozeFine
SnoozeFine is operated in Switzerland by James Leadbeater, trading as JL Intelligence. JL Intelligence is a trading name, not a separate legal entity. In this policy, “SnoozeFine,” “we,” and “us” refer to James Leadbeater as the operator responsible for the processing described here.
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at jl@jl-intelligence.com.
2. Scope and our approach
This policy explains how information is processed when you use the native SnoozeFine iOS app, its account and cloud-sync features, and the Friends accountability feature. It also explains how Apple, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and RevenueCat are involved in providing the service.
SnoozeFine does not use an advertising SDK, sell personal data, or use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or use-based data mining. Apple, AWS, and RevenueCat may process information under their own policies when they independently operate their services.
3. Information we process
A. Account and sign-in information
Depending on how you sign in, we process your email address, an Apple relay email address if you choose Sign in with Apple, your Cognito account identifier, and any name or display name supplied through the sign-in flow. Email/password authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito; SnoozeFine does not store your password in the app or in its own database.
B. Alarm, habit, and accountability information
To provide the app, we process the alarm settings you create, including time, repeat days, snooze duration, label, enabled state, and timezone. We also process habit type and title, targets, units, schedules, deadlines, timezone, progress, completion status, and missed or skipped status.
We may process wake-up events, snooze counts, wake and habit completion times, weekly recaps, statistics, DisciPoint account totals, and the positive earning events that explain those totals. SnoozeFine does not deduct DisciPoints for snoozing or for a missed habit in the current implementation.
C. Apple Health and fitness information
If you choose a HealthKit-backed habit and grant permission in Apple Health, SnoozeFine may read only the selected metrics needed for that habit: steps, active energy, exercise minutes, stand time, or sleep duration. For some activity metrics, the app may also read the activity goal that Apple exposes to third-party apps. SnoozeFine requests read access only; it does not write data to Apple Health.
The raw HealthKit samples remain in Apple Health on your device. To update a selected habit, the app may send a derived value or progress delta, together with the account and habit identifiers, to the SnoozeFine backend. The backend stores habit progress and completion status, not a copy of your complete Apple Health store. Completing a HealthKit-backed habit may create an earned DisciPoint event; only the resulting total, not the underlying health metric, can appear in the private Friends monthly leaderboard. Derived health-related progress is used only to provide the habit and accountability features, not for advertising, marketing, or sale. RevenueCat does not receive your HealthKit data.
D. Friends and optional profile information
If you use Friends, you may create a unique username and display name. We process friend requests, their status, the accepted connection, and the usernames and display names needed to operate that feature. After a friend connection is accepted, each friend can see the other person’s display name, username, and current month DisciPoint total and ranking. Your alarms, habits, HealthKit data, email address, and detailed history are not shown through the Friends leaderboard. Friends does not provide messaging, public posts, or any other user-to-user contact feature. You can decline a request or remove a friend at any time; removal ends the Friends leaderboard connection.
E. Purchases and referral attribution
Apple processes your App Store purchase. RevenueCat may process an anonymous or Cognito-linked app customer identifier, product and entitlement identifiers, transaction and subscription status, purchase and renewal dates, storefront or currency information, Apple receipt information, and technical app, device, or operating system information needed to provide purchase infrastructure. JL Intelligence does not receive or store your payment-card details.
If you voluntarily enter a creator or referral code, we may store that code as signup attribution and associate it with your account and RevenueCat customer. It is not attached to each alarm, habit, health metric, or DisciPoint earning event.
F. Usage, technical, and support information
The app may send allow-listed first-party events such as session start and authenticated views of the subscription, Today, Habits, Friends, or Account screens. These events include a random event identifier, random session identifier, timestamp, app version, platform, and Cognito account association. They contain no free-form content and are used for service operation, security, diagnostics, and product improvement.
Apple, AWS, RevenueCat, and their service providers may also process IP address, request, error, device, operating-system, app-version, receipt, and service-status information in order to secure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain their services. We do not request or use your advertising identifier for SnoozeFine advertising.
If you contact support, we process the information you choose to include in that communication, along with the information needed to verify your account and resolve the request.
G. Promotions and prize fulfilment
If you participate in a SnoozeFine promotion, we may use your account identifier, account email address, applicable DisciPoint total and earning records, eligibility and entry status, selection result, notification and response records, payment destination details supplied by a selected winner, and prize-payment records. For the September 2026 Winter Arc Challenge, eligible users are entered automatically. After replying to the account email, the winner may choose PayPal, bank transfer, or cryptocurrency and must provide the information needed to receive that payment. We do not request additional identity or eligibility documents from the winner.
4. Why we process information
Depending on the context, we process information to:
- create, authenticate, restore, secure, and delete accounts;
- provide alarms, habits, cloud sync, statistics, and weekly recaps;
- read selected Apple Health metrics when you authorize that access;
- record wake and habit progress and award positive DisciPoint events;
- operate private usernames, friend requests, and friend leaderboards;
- verify SnoozeFine+ subscription eligibility and restore purchases;
- administer promotions, verify entries, select and notify a winner, and fulfil a prize;
- prevent duplicate requests, progress updates, and earning events;
- secure the service, investigate abuse, and troubleshoot failures;
- understand authenticated feature use and improve the product;
- attribute an optional creator code; and
- comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Where the GDPR applies, we use the following bases for the stated purposes: performance of the contract for account, subscription, alarm, habit, cloud-sync, statistics, and Friends features; your consent for optional HealthKit access and any other processing for which consent is requested; our legitimate interests for security, duplicate prevention, diagnostics, abuse prevention, and limited authenticated product-improvement events; and legal obligations for records we must keep or disclosures we must make. You can withdraw consent for optional processing at any time, without affecting processing already carried out lawfully. We will not use your HealthKit data on the basis of a general product-analytics interest.
5. Who receives information
Apple. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, HealthKit, AlarmKit, the App Store, and StoreKit. Apple processes information under its own Privacy Policy and Media Services Terms.
Amazon Web Services. AWS Cognito, Amplify, AppSync, Lambda, and DynamoDB provide authentication, APIs, processing, and cloud storage. The current SnoozeFine AWS deployment is configured in the eu-north-1 region (Sweden). AWS may process data through other infrastructure or service providers as described in its Privacy Notice and applicable AWS data-processing terms.
RevenueCat. RevenueCat provides purchase infrastructure and subscription analytics on our behalf. RevenueCat states that end-user information is processed as a service provider and that personal data it collects is stored on AWS in the United States. Its current Privacy Policy and Terms of Use apply to its own services.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, law enforcement, regulators, or a successor in a merger or sale where legally permitted or required. We require service providers acting on our instructions to protect personal data consistently with this policy and applicable law. We do not make user profiles or leaderboards public on the web.
Prize-payment providers. If a winner selects PayPal or bank transfer, the relevant payment provider and financial institutions process the details needed to complete that transfer. If a winner selects cryptocurrency, the receiving wallet address, asset, amount, and transaction details are recorded on the relevant public blockchain. Those providers and networks operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
6. HealthKit, advertising, and sale of data
SnoozeFine does not sell personal data or health and fitness data. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, insurance decisions, or use-based data mining. We do not share raw HealthKit data with RevenueCat, advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. You can change or revoke Apple Health permissions at any time in iOS settings; revoking permission may stop the affected habit from updating automatically.
SnoozeFine does not intentionally track you across unrelated apps or websites for advertising. We use no advertising SDK and do not request App Tracking Transparency permission for this service.
7. Retention
We retain account, alarm, habit, accountability, Friends, and purchase-link data while it is needed to provide the service, secure and troubleshoot it, prevent duplicate or fraudulent events, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. Archived habits and historical statistics may remain while the account is active.
Promotion entry, eligibility-calculation, winner-selection, notification, and prize-delivery records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to administer the promotion, prevent or investigate fraud, document its outcome, resolve a dispute, and meet accounting, tax, or other legal obligations.
Operational logs are retained according to the configured AWS and provider settings; the current SnoozeFine Lambda functions are configured for one month of log retention. After a confirmed account-deletion request, the scheduled cleanup process normally begins within approximately five minutes. Temporary failures are retried automatically. Successful deletion requests are not kept as separate audit records. If cleanup is still in progress or has failed, a temporary record containing a user ID, attempt count, and technical error code may be retained until cleanup succeeds. Account-bound backend records are otherwise removed through that process, subject to data we must retain for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes. Apple and RevenueCat may retain transaction, security, and other records under their own policies and legal obligations.
Information that has been irreversibly aggregated so that it cannot reasonably be linked back to you may be retained for service statistics and improvement.
8. Account deletion and other choices
You can initiate permanent account deletion in SnoozeFine from Account settings and explicitly confirm the request. Cognito sign-in is deleted immediately from the app, account-bound local app data is cleared, and the scheduled SnoozeFine backend cleanup normally begins within approximately five minutes. Temporary failures are retried automatically. Successful requests are not retained as separate audit records; failed or in-progress requests temporarily retain only a user ID, attempt count, and technical error code until cleanup succeeds. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it separately in Apple subscription settings. Apple and RevenueCat may retain transaction, security, and other records under their own policies or legal obligations.
SnoozeFine does not store raw Apple Health data. It stores only derived habit progress, which is deleted through the backend cleanup process. Raw data remains in Apple Health under Apple’s control. To stop SnoozeFine reading it, use iOS Settings or the Health app’s permissions for SnoozeFine. If you used Sign in with Apple, the backend does not hold Apple refresh or access tokens, so manually revoke the remaining authorization under Apple Account settings → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → SnoozeFine → Stop Using Apple ID. See Apple's account-deletion guidance and Sign in with Apple token-revocation guidance.
You may also contact us to ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent where those rights apply. We may request information needed to verify your identity. We respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. Privacy rights and complaints
Swiss data-protection law may give you rights to obtain information about processing, access your personal data, correct it, request deletion or restriction, and object in appropriate circumstances. The Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner describes these rights at its information page.
If the GDPR applies to you, you may also have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority in the EU/EEA. The European Commission summarises these rights here.
10. International processing
SnoozeFine is operated from Switzerland, but the providers used to deliver it may process information internationally. Our current AWS deployment is in Sweden, while RevenueCat states that its collected personal data is stored on AWS in the United States. Apple, AWS, RevenueCat, and their service providers may process information in additional jurisdictions. Where required, we use legally recognised adequacy decisions, contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
11. Children
SnoozeFine is a general-audience productivity and accountability app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact jl@jl-intelligence.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
12. Security
We use access controls, authenticated APIs, encrypted connections, account-bound identifiers, and server-side validation designed to protect information. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you should keep your device and sign-in credentials secure.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when SnoozeFine, its providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. If a change is material, we will provide notice in the app or by another appropriate means where required by law.
